English: Things as they have been. Things as they now are. Caricature of Lord Cochrane made shortly after his conviction for fraud in 1814. The left side of the image depicts Cochrane as a heroic naval officer. He wears his Royal Navy uniform and on the floor beside him is a list of his notable battles. The right side depicts him as a disgraced civilian within the walls of the King's Bench Prison. His sword, epaulette and badge of the Order of the Bath lay broken and scattered on the floor. |
