Ecco lo stemma che ha scelto mons. Muratore, esso dice il legame e il radicamento del suo ministero nel territorio.

Il ramo di mandorlo. È il segno distintivo di Agrigento. Il ramo di man­dorlo è citato in Isaia, come il ramo che fiorisce nel cuore dell'inverno e nel grigiore della stagione profetizza la primavera, e in Geremia, segno del Signore che vigila sulla sua Parola per realizzarla (cfr. Ger 1,11).

La casa costruita sulla roccia fa particolare riferimento al cognome (Muratore). La roccia su cui costruire la casa è Cristo. A Nicosia la chiesa del SS.Salvatore è costruita sopra la roccia.

La Stella indica la presenza di Maria nella vita del Vescovo: Madonna dell’Aiuto a Campobello, la Madonna di Fatima e del Carmelo ad Agri­gento, Maria Ausiliatrice presso le Suore Salesiane.

Il motto "Dio ama chi dona con gioia" contiene gli elementi fondanti la spiritualità del Vescovo: Dio come tenerezza e compagnia, l'amore accolto e donato come modalità del vivere, il dono come stile, la gioia come trama sottile di tutte le cose.
