Summary[edit]

Description
English: On the shores of the Courtenay River estuary, low tide exposes thousands of ancient cedar stakes, used by Coast Salish First Nations to hold fishing weirs. The age of these stakes, established by carbon dating, ranges from 800 CE to 1860 CE.
