John Wood, manager of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Acquisitions Program at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D.C., listen to opening remarks at Sector Buffalo's Rescue 21 official acceptance ceremony held at Sector Buffalo, N.Y., Aug. 22, 2012. Rescue 21 is the Coast Guard's advanced command, control and direction finding communications system, and by harnessing this state-of-the-market technology the Coast Guard can execute its search and rescue missions with greater agility and efficiency.
