| Description |
English: Cnoc Gorm and Unnamed Lochan The dark blue-grey metagabbro rocks of Cnoc Gorm, in the background, contrast with the paler gneiss above the lochan, which drains into Poll an Turrabain. In the lochan, out of range of my camera, were Bog Bean and Greater Spearwort. This sort of topography, with hummocks of gneiss and irregular lochans, is called 'cnoc and lochan' and is characteristic of the Lewisian of North-West Scotland and the Western Isles. |
