Summary[edit]
DescriptionClosed-systems-vs-open-of-more-than-just-load-and-support-points .600px.png |
English: Closed rope support system of only 2 points : support and load with and w/o friction support. vs. An anchoring leg to outside those 2 points that effects the force flow thru the system, and now differently for frictional support, when both were the same before. The 'compounding point' at apex of arc, farthest from load on opposite side of supporting host mount than load, can give greater force than either leg to that point. In machines we see this as the 2/1 of a pulley and in knots as the point of greatest Nip to secure the knot. There must be a positive load going to a ground connection, even in support only closed system, to tension the line. Just as need + and - to have electric force on wire. Both scenarios needs opposing elements for force between. 600px |
