English: This portion of Maryland Route 117, located in Germantown, Maryland, is called Clopper Road. The road and the mill are named after Francis Clopper who bought 500 acres of woods and farmland here in 1810. The ruins of the grist mill are seen here, along with the mill race with some water in it to the right, and behind it you can see traffic on MD-117. |
