Text Appearing Before Image:
One of the most audacious adventures in Naval Historv;
Text Appearing After Image:
Reproduced by ^^ssioii from The Graphic. attack on Zeebrugge. Drawn bv Charles Dixon, R.I 42 THE CINDERELLAS OF THE FLEET Mole with a strong easterly tide. Three C. M. B.s dashed by, butwere lost again in the darkness and smoke before they could hear thehails from the dinghies. Then an M. L., under Lieut. H. W. Adams,loomed up in the gloom and luckily heard the shouts. Lieut.-Commander Young died on the way across. He was con-scious till the last, and wonderfully plucky over his wounds. His leftarm and right leg were badly hurt, but it was a gash in his left lungwhich proved fatal. His death will be a great loss to the R. N. V. R.in general and in particular to the Dover base, where he had been forover two years. Young was a white man; a mean or lying actionwas impossible to his nature, and no man ever set or kept a straightercourse than he. A most efncient officer and a very hard worker, heexpected others to be the same; but he would never ask a junior officerto do what he would not
