Summary[edit]

Description
English: Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Westbury-on-Severn From this angle it looks as if the bell tower and spire are attached to the nave and chancel, but it is possible to walk around the base of the tower as the buildings are separated by about 30 metres. Built in 1290, the tower was used as a defensive tower against raids by the Welsh. The spire was added in the 14th century and is covered with wooden shingles held in place with copper nails.
