Summary[edit]

Description
English: Church Street View north-west along Church Street as it heads downhill towards the village centre. Tradition has it that Boudica, the Queen of the Iceni, once ruled from Kenninghall and was buried in these parts of the county but similar claims have been made by other places in East Anglia. Kenninghall had a royal manor and the head of a seignory with dependencies stretching as far as the Lophams, Blo Norton, Garboldisham and Quidenham to name only a few. Towards the end of the 11th century the village counted about 300 inhabitants; at the beginning of the 17th century St Mary's church had 370 communicants. By 1736 the population had risen to 700 and in the 1800s there were 1052 people living in 114 houses. To this day Kenninghall remains a lively village with many picturesque houses and cottages > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1399712 - a number of shops - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1399709 - several pubs > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1399651 - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1399676 and a post office > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1399686 and, of course, St Mary's church > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1399926.
