Español: Los chuntaes se visten de mujer. Representan a los indígenas zoutones que se disfrazaban de mujer para salir y regresar del trabajo, y no ser sometidos por los caciques españoles; lo hacen en honor a Doña María de Ambulo (mujer española) quien apoyó a la comunidad de Chiapa de Corzo a salir de la hambruna durante la colonia. |

Los chuntaes representan a las sirvientas de doña María de Angulo que repartían comida en canastas que portaban sobre la cabeza a los pobladores de Chiapa de la Real Corona (actualmente Chiapa de Corzo). Visten faldas largas, blusas bordadas, mascadas en la cabeza para colocarse canastas adornadas.
