The Late MISS FRANCES RIDLEY HAVERGAL, the Christian Poetess-Scenes in Her Life

Miss HAVERGAL'S name has become a house-
hold word on both sides the Atlantic. While
her works have endeared her chiefly to the relig-
ious world, the purity and melody of her writing
have won for her also the admiration of many
who are deaf to religious teaching, but quick to
appreciate literary genius. Her prose writings
have been, under God, vehicles for conveying
sacred truth in such a manner that many heavily-
tried ones have found in them the unravelling
of what they deemeda hopeless trangle of trials.
