English: The sea at the bottom of the vase is like the one that surrounds the great mountain at the center of the universe. Above are four symbols of the energies yin and yang and eight trigrams. These trigrams stand for elements: the one with three unbroken yang, or male, lines signifies heaven; the one with three broken yin lines symbolizes earth.
