Summary[edit]

Description A view of the Great Wall. It was definately winter here in the mountains, and those sloping curves were hard to navigate being virtually packed down ice from the hundreds of tourists here to see it. Most of them were Chinese, though there were a few foreigners mixed in. A Nordic man helped me up the slippery slopes. Though we were both wearing sneakers, his seemed to grip the ice better. It was indeed as stark a landscape as it seems. I wonder what it would have been like in the summer. It's hard to believe anything flourished out here in the hinterlands.
