English: We had a group shoot at the Kincaid sand dunes in West Anchorage in July 2011. This may have been our best shoot of the season; absolutely great day, warm, sunny, no wind, excellent lighting, and incredible models - most of them were brand new to us.
We met Mandi at our Salon Nirvana shoot - she is a stylist there and several of the shooters feel in love with her there - well we thought she was incredibly photogenic so Mandi joined us at the dunes - and we are so glad she did. As soon as you meet her you notice her gorgeous eyes and smile - and she is so funny. She was a little bit nervous during the shoot (this was her first shoot) but she did fine. I would absolutely love to shoot with her again - come on Mandi, bring it on! Strobist info: I used two flash units, a Canon 580 EX II at 1/2 power and a Vivitar 285 HV at 1/4 power positioned at 45 degree angles from Mandi at a distance of 10-12 feet. I noticed some shadow on Mandi's face so I'll have to take her back out on the dunes - what a bummer! |
