Summary[edit]

Description

A less beautiful story from Dordrecht. PFOA, PFAS and GEN-X have now become familiar catchphrases. It's a nasty reality. A beautiful image but it is a tough pill to swallow.

Started early in the morning at 05:00 in the Biesbosch for some photos. Lovely cool air. Then on to Devil's Island for photos of a transhipment company in scrap metals against a heavy cloudy sky. That sky was not there. I did take some test photos to see if my location was suitable there. No further pictures taken, that will come later so, back home. Unloaded the crate with stuff there. Later at the end of the morning we saw that heavy clouds were on their way from the North Sea. Decided to photograph Chemours. (I wanted a heavy air in that photo also) The crate back in the car and drove to the village Sliedrecht, the photo location. Fortunately, all the stuff is in a crate. Then everything is ready to leave immediately. The chemical company has been on my bucket list for several years due to my love for industrial design. It is also not as far away as the Europoort and also easier to reach in connection with my health. It was also a company that was known to have a high regard for safety. At least, that's what the company emphatically conveyed. The fact that it is now portrayed in such a negative way suddenly gives a different dimension to my image. Especially now that there seems to be so much evidence that those responsible already knew about the danger when the factory was built.

Become the dark clouds in the sky now a red flag?
