Description
Nederlands: Een affiche voor de Franstalige markt werd ontworpen door Henri Cassiers, een Vlaamse toegepast kunstenaar die ook affiches maakte voor de Red Star Line en andere scheepvaartmaatschappijen. Hij was sowieso al geïntrigeerd door Holland en beeldde ook in zijn andere werk vaak Nederlandse klederdrachten af. Door de drie vrouwen op het affiche — in de dracht van Volendam, Marken en Axel — tegen een goudgele achtergrond te plaatsen leek het resultaat wel wat op een icoon, alsof zij heiligen waren. Een van hen hield een pot met een tulp omhoog. Cassiers beeldde ook nog een trein af met een locomotief van de SS (Staatsspoorwegen) en onderaan een landelijk tafereel in de buurt van Dordrecht.
