| Description | Chemical compounds generated by cigarette smoke and next-generation products (NGPs). Tobacco smoke is a complex mixture of thousands of different harmful and potentially harmful chemical species, including toxicants, carcinogens, and organic compounds (left panel). Aerosols generated by NGPs also contain harmful and potentially harmful compounds produced through the thermal decomposition of the solvents, but their quantity is generally lower compared to the ones found in cigarette smoke. |
