Summary[edit]

Description

A day exploring the history of Fort Sumter National Historical Park in Charleston, SC.

The guns here are 100 pounder Parrott rifles that were lined around Fort Sumter pointing out in all directions from the pentagon-shaped fort. The first shots of the US Civil War were fired here.

To get here there is a ferry ride from Patriots Point just outside of Charleston. We were camping in nearby Santee, SC, so this was a nice day trip to the city and back.
