Summary[edit]

Description
English: This ibex was the famous 'curved antler' which Charles Howard-Bury referred to in his book as he shot it in the Tien Shan Mountains during his expedition in 1921. This antler was on display when Howard-Bury lived in Belvedere House, Mullingar. This type of ibex is very rare and the antler deformity is possibly a result from an injury when the animal was young. Photographed in the Greville Arms Hotel museum.
