| Description |
Español: Ubicado en el Parque Nacional Vicente Pérez Rosales, el cerro La Picada o Caulle (que en lengua mapuche quiere decir gaviota) es uno de los vecinos más próximos del volcán Osorno. Se ubica en el extremo noroeste del lago Todos los Santos y corresponde a los restos de un antiguo volcán.
La Picada está formado en su base por roca sedimentaria y sus barrancos, bastante abruptos, están compuestos de sienita (*). Debido a su altura, durante el verano se desvanece la nieve y hielo que lo cubren durante la primavera y el invierno, respectivamente, dejando descubierta la roca. Esta variedad de condiciones hacen interesante y diversa su ascensión durante todo el año. Se puede acceder a él desde el norte, por Osorno, a través de la ruta Puerto Octay – Cascadas. Desde el sur, por Puerto Montt, a través de la ruta Puerto Varas – Ensenada – Cascadas o su variante Puerto Varas - Ensenada - Petrohué. |
