English: Central Tramway - Scarborough The top station and, one of the two cars of Scarborough's Central Tramway. It is a funicular railway which was opened in August 1881 when it was steam powered. Conversion to electrical power was undertaken in 1910, with the current cars date from 1932. The incline is as steep as 1 in 2. Behind the station is one of the corner turrets of the Grand Hotel |
