Deutsch: Trierzimmer der Münchner Residenz:
Die zwei Deckenbilder (um 1615–1620) von Peter Candid im Saal der Entscheidung (Audienzzimmer, Raum Nr. 52) stellen Delectus – die Auswahl und Diiudicatio – das abwägende Urteil einander gegenüber.
Hier: Die Personifikation der Auswahl stellt mit dem hölzernen Rechen und den Getreidegarben die Bildwelt der Getreideernte vor Augen. Sie hält ein großes Sieb zur Trennung der Spreu vom Weizen. Solche Auswahl des Guten und Nützlichen (und zugleich das Verwerfen schlechter Ideen und Ratschläge) ist eine Herrschertugend, die helfen soll, gute Entscheidungen zu treffen.
