Description

SAN DIEGO — NAVFAC Southwest Project Manager Elizabeth Cavagnaro and Contract Specialist Elliott Penetrante each received a command coin from NAVFAC Southwest Commanding Officer CAPT Mark K. Edelson during a Feb. 24 presentation in San Diego.

They were recognized for the work on the awarding of a $127 million firm-fixed-price contract for Joint Strike Fighter F-35 maintenance hangar and F-35 parking apron at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar.

Cavagnaro was recognized for creating the plan of action and milestones (POA&M) when the projects were pulled into an earlier fiscal year and personally tracked all critical path elements, including NEPA documents to ensure the earliest possible award.

Penetrante was recognized for his exceptional competence and true commitment to mission accomplishment in the pre-award efforts on this contract. He enacted time-saving strategies, communicated effectively and regularly worked overtime to meet all legal and chronological requirements.
