Summary[edit]
DescriptionCauliflowerMosaicRNA35S.png |
English: The 35S RNA is particularly complex, containing a highly structured 600 nucleotide long leader sequence with six to eight short open reading frames (ORFs) (Fütterer et al., 1988; Pooggin et al., 1998). This leader is followed by seven tightly arranged longer ORFs that encode all the viral proteins (reviewed by Hohn and Fütterer, 1997). The mechanism of expression of these proteins is very special. The ORF VI protein (encoded by the 19S RNA) controls translation reinitiation of major open reading frames on the polycistronic 35S RNA. TAV function depends on its association with polysomes and eukaryotic initiation factor eIF3 (Park et al., 2001).

This image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with
{{vector version available|new image name}} .
It is recommended to name the SVG file “CauliflowerMosaicRNA35S.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter. |
