Summary[edit]

Description
English: Built in 1896, this Gothic Revival-style building was designed by Millard Fillmore Giesey to serve as the Central Catholic Parish School, now known as the Cathedral Parish School. The building features a red brick exterior with a rough-hewn stone base, one-over-one windows, gothic arched windows on the first and third floors, rough-hewn stone trim, a tower at the center of the 14th Street facade, hipped roofs with wide overhanging eaves, a contemporary rear addition with a glass and stone facade, and decorative patterned brickwork on the third floor of the tower. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996, and is a contributing structure in the East Wheeling Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. The building today is utilized for diocese offices.
