Description
English: The pyxis in the name of Ismail. Treasure of the Cathedral Saint-Just-et-Saint-Pasteur Narbonne. Work of Arab origin, in a single block of ivory. The inscription at the base of the cover, is in Kufic and glorifies Ismail al-Zafir first king of the Taifa of Toledo. It subsequently served for Christian worship to keep the hosts. It was created by Muhammad ibn Zayyan between 1026 and 1031 to Cuenca (Spain).
Français : La pyxide au nom d'Ismail. Trésor de la Cathédrale Saint-Just-et-Saint-Pasteur de Narbonne. Œuvre d'origine arabe, en un seul bloc d'ivoire. L'inscription, à la base du couvercle, est en coufique et glorifie Ismail al-Zafir premier roi de la Taifa de Tolède. Elle a, par la suite, servie au culte chrétien pour conserver les hosties. Elle a été réalisé par Muhammad ibn Zayyan entre 1026 et 1031 à Cuenca (Espagne).
Italiano: Pisside a nome del Ismail. Tesoro della Cattedrale di Saint-Just-et-Saint-Pasteur di Narbonne. Il lavoro di origine araba, in un unico blocco d'avorio. L'iscrizione alla base della copertura, è in cufico e glorifica Ismail al-Zafir primo re della Taifa di Toledo. Successivamente ha servito per il culto cristiano a tenere le ostie. E 'stato fatto da Muhammad ibn Zayyan tra il 1026 e il 1031 a Cuenca (Spagna).
