Timbrell.—In June, 1889, in company with Mr. E. G. Fowler, I drove from Middletown, X. Y., to Unionville, Orange County, N. Y., a distance of Some fifteen miles, for the purpose of seeing this in fruit. The notes I made of the Timbrell at that time are: "Medium to late, one of the best flavored fruits I have eaten, sets an enormous quantity of fruit, the plants show a tendency to grow into stools, making a strong growth of dark, rich foliage." Since writing the above, we have fruited the Timbrell for two seasons, and have been so well pleased with it, that we now have several acres of it in stock.
