At the meeting of the Ohio Pomological Society, at Cincinnati, December 6th, 7thand 8th, 1865, the subject of Strawberries being under discussion, Mr. Bateham, theSecretary of the Society, said of the Jucunda, Be has seen it in time of ripening atMr. Knoxs, and had tested it on his own grounds, and could corroborate all that othershad said of its great beauty, size and excellence of flavor, rendering it much the best ofall the foreign sorts known to him. It is also very productive, and seems to be per-fectly hardy, and the fruit is sufficiently urm to bear transportation well.—Extractfrom forthcoming Report. M. B. BATEHAM, Secretary.

J U C U jSt D A — OUR No. 700. 20 Knox Fruit Farm and Nurseries. But the greatest of all Knoxs Strawberries is undoubtedly the 1 700. Nothingwhich Knox has equals TOO. Albany Seedling bears well, but does not equal 700.Triomphe de Gand has a peculiar flavor, preferred by many; more of this has 700.Triomphe de Gand is also solid and firm, carries well to the market, and stands thepressure of kitchen fingers, and so does 700. And then its great beauty, for thecolor has a tinge of vermillion in it,—its coming tolerably early in the season, andcontinued succession to the end, together with its generally large size,—must make itan universal favorite, when grown after the Knox method. He seems to have triedit and tested it thoroughly, planting in patches all over the place, and by the side ofmost other varieties, and it comes off superior to all. TidOS.
