Summary[edit]
DescriptionCassette Player and Recorder for the Blind IMG 0152.JPG |
English: Cassette Player and Recorder for the Blind. Used also by persons with dyslexia or attention deficit. Suitable for books on tapes and lecture recording. Has many special functions for making the listening easy, like total control over the listening speed. In the world of the blind, the compact cassette survived well into the 21st century. The all-mechanical players as shown were superseded with players with digital speed and pitch controls - but still using the analogue cassette as the medium. Although by 2019 the public website of the American Printing House for the Blind (a U.S. Congress establishment) does not mention cassettes, they are still regularly distributed to legacy customers with the APHB cassette players. More at Tecmoan's report.
