Summary[edit]

Description
English: the premise is that in 1904, men would accompany their wives into hat shops, the shop clerks would demonstrate grotesquely ugly hats which somehow looked beautiful when the clerks wore them, and then the wives would want to buy the hats for exorbitatnt prices which the men then felt compelled to pay.
