Description
Deutsch: Karte von Sunda und Sahul sowie der Wallace-Linie, der Lydekker-Linie und der Weber-Linie.
  • Als Sahul wird die zusammenhängende Landmasse bezeichnet, die während der letzten Eiszeit aus Australien, der nordöstlich davon gelegenen Insel Neuguinea und der südöstlich gelegenen Insel Tasmanien bestand. Die Absenkung des Meeresspiegels gegenüber heute betrug während des Maximums der Eiszeit bis zu 100m.
  • Als Sunda wird die zusammenhängende Landmasse bezeichnet, die während der letzten Eiszeit aus den heutigen Inseln Borneo, Sumatra, Java, Palawan und weiteren kleineren Inseln Südostasiens zusammen mit Hinterindien bestand und Teil des asiatischen Kontinent war.
  • Die Wallace-Linie, die Lydekker-Linie und die Weber-Linie sind biogeografische Trennlinien zwischen asiatischer und australischer Flora und Fauna.
