Summary[edit]

Description
English: Carreg ar lwch R S Thomas - Stone on R S Thomas's ashes Ronald Stuart Thomas's ashes are buried close to the door of St. John's Church,

Porthmadog.

From 1936 until his retirement in 1978, Thomas worked as a vicar in the Church in Wales. His last parish, Aberdaron, was located on the tip of the Llŷn Peninsula. The bleak Welsh landscape and the harsh life of the farmers who were his parishioners provided an inspiration for much of his finest poetry.
