Summary
DescriptionCarentan Église Notre Dame Vitrail Baie 29 Pentecôte et la vie de sainte Barbe 2014 08 24.jpg |
Église Notre-Dame, Carentan, Manche, Basse-Normandie, France English: Medieval stained glass window in the 29th bay (west-most north window of the north aisle), created end of the 15th century, displaying the Pentecost using flames as symbol for the Holy Spirit (top section) and scenes of the life of Saint Barbara. Some of these scenes are now hardly recognizable due to the poor preservation of this window where colorful pieces of glass have been used to fill the gaps. Restauration works were executed in 1915 and 1931 by Charles Daumont-Tournel, and in 1979 and 1987 by Michel Durand.
