(Description and comment from M. Dorothy George, 'Catalogue of Political and Personal Satires in the British Museum', XI, 1954)

For the Swan River Colony see No. 15796, &c. In a glowing account of its possibilities in the 'Quarterly Review' for April 1829 there was a warning to isolated settlers: "those principally in our eye are half-pay officers of the army and navy, whose applications for leave to settle on Swan River we understand to be very numerous".[1]
