Deutsch: Um für eine CAPPI- Anzeige Wetterradardaten von einem bestimmten Höhenbereich zu erhalten, müssen Daten verschiedener Höhenwinkel und verschiedener Entfernung miteinander verknüpft werden. Zu beachten ist, dass bei einer Halbwertsbreite des Antennendiagrammes eine Begrenzung auf (hier) 1,5° erfolgt und deshalb in großer Entfernung die Anzeige ungenauer wird. In der Realität ist eine feinere Strukturierung als hier symbolisch gezeigt, durch Interpolation möglich.
Durch die Überhöhung (vertikaler Maßstab ist ungleich dem horizontalen Maßstab) ist die Anzeige der Höhenwinkelgeraden nicht linear und deshalb sehen die verschiedenen Volumina übertrieben verdreht aus. Die Höhenangabe von 15.000 Fuß (etwa 5000 m) auf der Ordinate (Y-Achse) nimmt hier in der Grafik eine fast sechs Mal so große Strecke in Anspruch, als die 5 km auf der Abszisse (X-Achse). Stellen Sie sich vor, dass in der Realität das ganze Diagramm so flach gequetscht wird, dass die Winkelgerade mit dem Namen „15 Grad“ wirklich einen Winkel von 15° zur Horizontalen einnimmt und das Diagramm als lineare Grafik dann höhenmäßig etwa bei der Marke 2,5·1000 Fuß beendet ist. |
