Summary[edit]
DescriptionCapel Ebenezer, Trefor, Parish of Llandrygarn - geograph.org.uk - 997734.jpg |
English: Capel Ebenezer, Trefor, Parish of Llandrygarn Built in the Gothic style in 1833, this Wesleyan chapel is still open. This building replaced an earlier chapel of 1804. making it the first Wesleyan chapel on the island. John Wesley passed this way more than once enroute to Ireland but his preaching in Anglesey, despite the use of translators, had little effect on his monolingual listeners. The Wesleyan movement on the island was also beleaguered by factionalism and schisms. |
