By makingall the main parts of rolled-steel section the weight of the crane itselfhas been kept very low, thus avoiding that disproportion betweenthe dead weight and the live or useful weight which is so often a dis-couraging feature of all overhead travelling cranes. An interesting-feature of the bulletin, is that it describes a large number of alter-native constructions of the lifting gear, which are available for useunder the varying conditions found in the many different factories inwhich this type of crane can be used to advantage.
