Summary[edit]
DescriptionCamping at Mawgan Porth in 1935 - geograph.org.uk - 1725294.jpg |
English: Camping at Mawgan Porth in 1935. This picture was taken in 1935 by my Great-Uncle the Rev E. V. Tanner who was a prolific photographer. The field was rented out, by the local farmer, to families who visited Mawgan Porth for long holidays on a regular basis- often for anything up to six weeks at a time. The caravan in this picture would have been quite a rarity at this time and was probably the height of luxury then, although to a modern-day caravanner it would be extremely basic! The field in use can still be seen in Tony Atkin's picture 314488, it is the sandy-looking one below the road that is just behind the buildings on the left-hand side of the bridge. |
