Summary[edit]

Description
English: Figure 1-6: Intrusive Investigation of Scarp/Dunes. Center image.

The text of the report states:

Using the color-coded anomaly grid maps and dig sheets for each grid, UXO personnel located each anomaly for excavation using the coordinates from the geophysical data. If necessary, handheld magnetometers were used to confirm the exact location of the anomaly. The anomaly was then excavated to maximum depth of four feet below ground surface (bgs) by hand digging. Figure 1-6 contains photographs of the intrusive investigation conducted on the dunes and scarp at the Former Camp Welllfleet; the activities depicted in these photographs are representative of the intrusive field investigation conducted in other areas of the site during the EE/CA. In grids containing sensitive environmental resources (such as Broom Crowberry), a tarp was placed on the ground surface and excavated soils were placed on the tarp to minimize impacts to the sensitive species (see Figure 1-7).
