Summary[edit]

Description
English: Camp Cove, Sydney, the beach where Captain Arthur Phillip, first Governor of New South Wales landed on 21 January 1788 when looking for an alternative site to Botany Bay.[1] The beach is on the southern side Sydney Bay of a few hundred metres from South Head. Phillip finally established his settlement at Port Jackson, some 3 km to the west of this point and on the north side of the bay.
