Description
English: Calligraphic emblem, India (Deccan, maybe Bijapur), late 16th century, first 17th century. Sculpted sandstone, with the name of Yâ ʿAziz (“the Glorious”, one of the names of Allah) repeated 8 times. Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (1985.240.1), Edward Pearce Casey Fund.
Français : Rondeau calligraphique, Inde (Deccan, probablement Bijapur), fin du XVIe–début du XVIIe siècle. Grès sculpté. Inscription répétant huit fois le nom « Yâ ʿAziz » (le Glorieux), l'un des noms d'Allah. Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (1985.240.1), fonds Edward Pearce Casey.
