Español: Las calaveritas de azúcar siempre han formado parte de las tradiciones de día de muertos en México. Su elaboración es a base de alfeñique que es una mezcla de azúcar, clara de huevo, limón y una sustancia aglutinante que llaman chautle; posteriormente son decoradas con betún de diferentes colores. Hay de distintos tamaños y diseños. En esta imagen podemos observar la variedad de diseños ofrecidos en el marcado de Coyoacán.
English: Sugar skulls have always been part of Mexico's Day of the Dead traditions. Their elaboration is based on alfeñique which is a mixture of sugar, egg white, lemon and an agglutinating substance that they call chautle; later they are decorated with bitumen of different colors. There are different sizes and designs. In this image we can see the variety of designs offered in the market of Coyoacán. |
