{} Archeological notes NT03NW 18 03875 37615. (NT 0386 3761) Cadger's Bridge (NR) OS 6" map, (1940). Cadger's Bridge: A stone single arch footbridge, 2m wide, reputedly of 13th century origin (SDD undated). Its name derives from it traditionally having been crossed by Wallace disguised as a cadger (hawker) on his way to where the English were camped, near Biggar. New Statistical Account (NSA) 1845. 'Cadger's Brig' is as described. Visited by OS (RD) 25 July 1972. (Location cited as NT 040 377). Cadger's Bridge, reputed to be of 13th century origin. A small segmental arch bridge, of light construction, with iron railings, now used for foot traffic only. J R Hume 1976.
