| Description |
English: C A Anderson & Co, Market Street, Omagh Two thirds of the business were sold off in 2005 but this part has been retained for Shooting and Angling. The building has been re-painted green to make it stand out from the rest. Previously to this, C.A. Anderson & Co's twin gabled premises occupied the site. It was founded in 1920 and featured two logos on each gable front with "The Hardware House". Also there was a famous glass awning over the footpath built in 1924 which was destroyed in a bomb attack on 12th Jan, 1974. Another recollection that I had of the older shop which had a sort of an emporium feel about it was the overhead box system which whizzed from the counter to the office with the cash. The premises were re-built in 2003. |
