Description

Thursday, August 20, 2015 -- Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman joined the Connecticut National Guard and other state officials to commemorate the groundbreaking for a Fuel Cell and Corrosion Control Facility at the Bradley Air National Guard Base in East Granby. The facility will will support the Connecticut National Guard's fleet of eight C-130 aircraft. It is one of many ongoing projects to transform Bradley Air National Guard Base after transitioning to a fleet of C-130s in 2013.

"This ceremony, while focused on a specific facility, is not just about the construction of one building," Maj. Gen. Martin said. "It is an acknowledgement of everything the Connecticut National Guard is doing to modernize our facilities and become a state-of-the-art member of the C-130 community."

Construction is expected to be completed in October of 2016.
