Summary[edit]

Description
English: Danaus plexippus plexippus, Wanderer butterfly/Monarch butterfly. Family: Nymphalidae. Referred to as the Wanderer Butterfly in Australia this magnificent species is distributed along the eastern and south eastern Australia and also in New Guinea and most of the islands of the south-west Pacific. This species has gradually extended its range in recent times across the Pacific from North America, where it is known as the Monarch Butterfly. SeeBE0834 & BE0835.
