Nederlands: Olieverfschilderij. De plaats Anjer, aan de bocht van Anjer had vroeger zijn betekenis te danken aan de gunstige ligging aan het nauwste gedeelte van de Straat Sunda, waardoor alle uit Europa komende schepen, zowel die bestemd voor Indonesië als China, Japan en Manilla, die plaats aandeden om zich te rapporteren of om orders op te nemen en zich van verversingen en drinkwater te voorzien.
