Nederlands: Repronegatief. Zowel de overheid als de zending begrepen dat er een grote groep van inheemse onderwijzers zou moeten worden opgeleid om lager onderwijs voor inheemse kinderen op flinke schaal te kunnen verwerkelijken. De groei van het aantal 'kweekscholen' moest dus aan die van de lagere scholen vooraf gaan. Dat 'Westers' onderwijs ook kennis en waardering van het eigen verleden impliceerde, moge uit de foto van het schoolreisje van deze Protestante kweekschool blijken. De school is genoemd naar de Anti-Revolutionair Keuchenius, minister van Koloniën van 1888-1890. Hik hief het verbod tot subsidiëring van inlands onderwijs op godsdienstige grondslag op. (P.
