Discussion:

These could have circulated together as a hoard in the Roman period with a deposition date in the early first century AD. The latest coin is a denarius of Augustus issued between 2 BC and AD 4. However, Roman Republican coins had a long period of circulation in Britain, particularly the legionary denarii of Mark Antony (RRC 544), which are known from hoards into the third century AD. A thirteenth coin, a Roman Republican denarius of C. Considius Paetus, 46 BC (RRC 465/1a) is not considered to be Treasure as it was found as a single find prior to the discovery of the hoard (recorded as PAS SF-9F1BFD) but can be assumed to be part of this hoard.

Recommendation:

This group of 12 coins were found in close proximity to one another, all contain a minimum of 10% precious metal and are over 300 years old. Consequently the group qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996 in terms of both age and precious metal content.
